SECURE STORAGE OF DATA AND USER-FRIENDLY INTERFACE
You can say a lot of good things about Excel, but a good database it’s not. If Excel no longer covers your needs a solution based on Access- or SQL-technology can be an inexpensive and flexible alternative.
A portion of our customers have started up small databases in a spreadsheet. There is nothing wrong with that – so long as “the database” is very simple and only used by a single user.
But the needs and requirements of some of these solutions increase as they become more and more central in relation to the handling of the process being supported. And, suddenly, you have a solution that’s person-dependent, complex and difficult.
We are specialized in converting these Excel databases into an Access/SQL solution – without running up the budget.
Technically, an Access database is based on the SQL database’s technology, which the vast majority of companies use today. So the opportunity opens up for developing a solution which combines the best from both worlds, namely the easily accessible and flexible user interface in Access and the SQL database’s calculating power and security.
Advantages when choosing a solution in Access/SQL
- Easy access for entry/handling of complex data, where there are, for example, internal dependencies which come into play.
- All data are kept in an Access/SQL database, and several users can access data at the same time. Thus, you avoid locked files, distribution of data in several files, etc.
- Possibility of setting up access rights – thus there are no users who can access data they don’t have the rights to.
- The underlying database can easily be integrated with other systems, with which you, for example, have the opportunity for automatic updating with realized numbers from the ERP system.
